When a fellow brother in Christ says, “Everything is not all about the Kingdom, it is about repentance”, well I beg to differ. If Jesus taught about the Kingdom to His apostles and were giving His followers the secrets of the Kingdom of heaven than I better put on my thinking cap and learn how to live for the Kingdom .
John the Baptist said to the people, “Repent for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” Jesus also said after John the Baptist was held in prison, “Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” The Kingdom of heaven is the subject at hand, repentance merely a condition leading to its realization. Jesus’ entire ministry is preaching and teaching the gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven.
Wikipedia defines: Repentance is the activity of reviewing one’s actions and feeling contrition or regret for past wrongs.
Repentance is the confession of one’s offense and he or she is remorseful. Repentance leads to humbleness; humbleness develops faith because faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
So, in other words, repent first because a servant is not greater than the master. He is the only way to the Kingdom. Jesus, the King of the Kingdom of Heaven, came to earth to teach us how to deliver the gospel to those in the the kingdoms of this world.
As Daniel 2 prophesied, in the time of Rome’s Empire God set up His Kingdom;
“In the days of those kings the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which will never be destroyed, and that kingdom will not be left for another people; it will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, but it will itself endure forever.”
Amen and amen!
